Special Education

Special education is specially designed instruction that addresses the unique needs of a student eligible to receive special education services. Special education is provided at no cost to parents and includes the related services a student needs to access her/his educational program.

Types of special needs children and teaching strategies:
There are many types of special needs such as,

  • Intellectual disability, Hearing impairment, Visual impairment, Orthopedically Handicapped, Autism, Cerebral palsy, Emotional behavior disorder (EBD), Attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD)

Like all children, they differ from one another in ability, age, learning style, and personality, based on student strength/weakness special education teacher must develop the individualized education program which help to increase his functional academics, daily living, recreation and vocational skills. In Shantiniketan, we develop Individualized education program to everyone to bring them in to mainstream. Our primary goal is to provide the opportunity to utilize their skills and knowledge to develop the functional academics, so that they can be independent to certain extent.
